Welcome to our website! (Houses are not the only thing we build !!)

We hope you can find answers to your home repair  and/or construction concerns here in these few pages.  It is our desire to be helpful and, at the very least, direct you to the resources available and the answers you are looking for.  We designed this website in hopes of generating some good advertisement and provide a common reference point to as much information about our services as possible. We would sincerely love to do business with you and hope that you will give us a chance to show you what we are about.

Our Mission

"To be the first name you speak when someone asks :  Who did your work?" (Standing out among the crowd of contractors and construction types as your own genuine "inside contact" and professional service resource.)

Company Profile

We are "Kendig Remodeling & Construction" : A small family owned and operated business, comprised of the Father: Doug Kendig, Four Sons: Adam,  Brandon,  Jacob & Kevin, and a very dynamic wife who is also the General Manager at KRC,  Two fellow associates: James Raley & Stephen Edwards, and several skilled subcontractors specializing in electrical and plumbing repair or installation.  This company is our way of life and we concern ourselves with it.  It is NOT a second sideline operation. Each member of our crew has a vested interest in the outcome of the project in some way...  Our Subcontractors get paid when the project is finished and the customer is satisfied.

We each stand ready to defend you and this industry  in a world full of tricksters and half-hearted business types ready to take your money. We love this job. (How could anyone be good at a job they don't even like?)

We want your reference when you speak to others about us.  "Word of mouth" advertisement is the "Holy Grail" of successful contracting.  Quality will speak for itself in any business, but, when your clients repeatedly point it out to their friends and neighbors...  what is speaking is "Truth", good or bad.   We are in a tough business....   This business has a reputation that we need to overcome...  We each accept that mission.

Douglas Kendig is the CEO and "HANDS-ON" field supervisor for KRC, with over 25 years experience in the construction industry and professional associations with more than 20 established businesses across the country in both commercial and residential applications.  Mr. Kendig is a Licensed General Contractor and employs licensed subcontractors. He can be located most days on site, hammer in hand. (See: "Resume" link))

Actual client referrals and references are available on the "Satisfied customers" reference page of this website.  (These people have graciously agreed to open their homes to inspection and take calls related to previous KRC projects.  We trust your inquiries will not harm our ability to retain these reference sources for all our clients. All our current and former clients are people we care about. We are as proud of what they say about us as we are of what we did for them.)

-from the CEO@KRC:      Hello neighbor...    I hope you find everything you need here to make an informed decision as to which contractor you will go with on your next project.  Even if you do not choose KRC, I hope you will mention that you were informed here about the things you should ask when you speak to other contractors.  I make it my business to watch them too.  I know many of them, and I know what they have been known to do on occasion.   Certain things you may not be aware of, you will learn at this website and you will be more careful when you shop around... and by all means, please do shop around...   the more you do, the better informed you will become and "THAT" is the kind of client I love to do business with..   (someone who knows)  ...and if you don't know.. well, that is my business too.   Turning your home into a construction zone is an inherently "stressful" experience..  minimizing the stress is as important as the work we do and, therefore, is a key part of the procedures we employ.   So, here is your first lesson in stress management:  Shop around, become better informed, leave nothing to chance and get your promises up front, because once the job has commenced... a contractor can hold your life hostage, sap your finances with hidden costs, make changes and cut corners you didn't approve, and generally make a mess of what you "thought" was just a simple upgrade...   BEWARE OF THE UNLICENSED UNINSURED SCAMMERS !!!  ...and, yes, when you are better informed, I am confident you will return to make some serious inquiries about such matters as scheduling, contract provisions, and insurance coverage. The implementation of detailed designs, building inspections and permit fees are (or should be) a part of any remodel or new construction project.  A materials list, a labor quote and some sort of guarantee is standard and you should  accept no less from any contractor.   I guarantee my work.        ...see you soon       - Doug Kendig

Contact Information

Serious inquiries only please... (We would like to KEEP our estimates free)

Jennifer Kendig (General Manager) can be reached at the office to take your message, answer any preliminary questions,  or schedule an initial project appraisal.   Project appraisals are performed on-site directly by Doug Kendig and usually produce an informal preliminary estimate, followed-up with a formal written quote or a completely documented project proposal, depending on the size and scope of your project.        (Yes, these are all free services within a 30 mile radius)  out of town inquiries requiring travel beyond 30 miles should expect a minimum $20.00 travel expense to appear on the Estimate  -due to increased fuel expenses and an additional $0.50 per mile over 30). If we contract your out of town project, these expenses will be included/covered in the final formal quote. (See: "Company forms and documents" link)
